Happy Holidays
Milestones
Meghan and Hunter
Meghan has graduated from Winthrop, and has a new boyfriend, Hunter.
El Paso
Cyndi and Noelle have moved from tiny Gallipolis, Ohio, to El Paso, Texas, where Cyndi has accepted a job at the VA hospital. They're now a long way from the rest of us, but it's a great job and they are loving the Southwest.
Kennon and Iris
Iris has been accepted to UF for her Master's in Entomology, and been accepted for co-enrollment in the Doctor of Plant Medicine program at UF. The downside is that she and Kennon will be living about 1 1/2 hours apart.

Collecting trips
Four or more times a year, Julian and Diane have to go stay at the faculty dorm at the UNC-IMS in Morehead City and collect flatworm specimens from nearby beaches.

Really, we HAVE to. It's not like anyone would go to these places if they didn't have to.

Gardens
Julian and Diane love gardening.

clematis
For the first time, we're having some luck growing clematis. We planted hydrangeas in this bed in the fall, and we're looking forward to seeing them together this spring.

Europe
We took a complicated month visiting four European cities for work and play.

Stockholm
We spent a week in Stockholm, where Julian did research at the Swedish Museum of Natural History.
Hasselt
We spent another week in Hasselt, where Julian worked with a colleague at the University there.
Berlin
Then we went to Berlin for a week, where Julian gave a talk at an international meeting.
Birgitz
Finally, we visited an old friend in Birgitz, outside Innsbruck, and got to see some dear friends in the city, as well.

Julian also got some work done at the Institute.
